The summer has flown by and you’ve probably watched your non-lawyer friends and their families trotting off to fun destinations. If you haven’t done that yet, there’s still time. Here are 3 reasons why you should make time away a priority.
- Burnout is real. Too little time away from your desk can make you irritable but it can also impact your decision-making.
- Your family may need a break from your law practice as well. I can guarantee they will enjoy feeling like they have your undivided attention.
- Your clients and your staff will get along just fine without you. Let them know you’re going to be out and who they are to contact should a problem arise when you’re gone.
Taking time away is part of building a healthy boundary between your life at home and your life at work. Make it a top priority instead of wishful thinking.
